Band [UNI Tee - O LINE]
This artifact, attributed to Egypt and dating to the 4th–5th century, is a long decorative textile woven in wool using the tapestry technique. Such bands were once applied to garments as ornamental panels, adding pattern and color to everyday clothing.
Preserved today as an archival image, it reappears here as a contemporary garment design; an ancient textile ornament returning, once again, to the surface of a garment.

This garment carries a printed image recovered from an archival object.
To preserve the fabric and design:
- Wash inside out at low temperatures
- Iron inside out
- Avoid tumble drying whenever possible
- Air dry flat
Handled with care, the image will remain clear for longer.
Yet time is also part of every object’s life. If you prefer, allow the garment to fade, soften, and slowly wear. In doing so, the design continues its quiet passage through time — much like the object from which it once emerged.
